We fill many of our job positions with candidates with whom we regularly work, before we can post the position on our website. Temporary Positions


Periodic Temporary Government Contracts Counsel

Firm Advice has been engaged to identify an experienced federal government contracts attorney to work on a temporary, periodic basis for a government contractor in the Tysons area.  The selected candidate will work with the business teams and government customers to respond to RFPs and provide counsel on compliance with existing government contracts.  This opportunity is ideal for a solo practitioner who has time to represent additional clients.  Our client wants to identify someone who will be available for the long term, so please do not consider this opportunity if you are looking for a full-time position.

REQUIREMENTS
  • JD and member of at least one US bar;
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience drafting and negotiating federal government contracts, as well as a thorough understanding of RFP processes, FAR and DFAR, and federal contracts’ compliance issues;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities;
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with excellent communication and analytical skills; and
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.

Technology Associate

Firm Advice is conducting a search for a mid-level attorney to draft and negotiate technology contracts for a non-profit headquartered in Arlington, VA, on a temp to possible hire basis.

The attorney will assist with drafting and negotiating technology agreements and other commercial contracts, including security and privacy issues.

Five years’ experience drafting and negotiating commercial technology agreements is required.


Contracts Counsel

Firm Advice is conducting a search for a commercial contracts counsel to provide support for a technology company headquartered in Reston, VA.

The selected Candidate will work with business teams and be responsible for drafting and negotiating domestic and international technology and commercial contracts with customers while mitigating risks. Responsibilities will also include providing counsel and contracts support to sales personnel.

REQUIREMENTS
  • JD and member of at least one US bar;
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience drafting and negotiating technology agreements, preferably gained while working in a technology company or major law firm;
  • Experience with privacy issues, including privacy compliance and data protection programs a plus;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities;
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with excellent communication and analytical skills; and
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.

Direct Hire Positions

VIRGINIA


Government Contracts Associate

Firm Advice is conducting a search on behalf of a full-service, mid-sized law firm in Northern Virginia for a government contracts associate who has 1 to 5 years’ law firm or government experience. The ideal attorney will have a working knowledge of contract types, contracting principles, laws, and Executive Orders that are applicable to federal procurements, including the FAR, DFARS, and SBA regs. Experience handling federal government bid protests, preferably before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, GAO, Boards of Contract Appeals, and/or Office of Hearings and Appeals status is a plus. The selected candidate will work with clients on all aspects of government contracting, including responding to RFPs, bid protests, transactions, and litigation.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to avoid the commute to DC but wants to work on sophisticated matters in a collegial environment. Technology Associate

Firm Advice is conducting a search for a mid-level to senior attorney to draft and negotiate technology contracts for a significant corporation headquartered in Northern, Virginia. This is an opportunity to work at an international technology company on cutting-edge technology matters. This attorney will report to the head of the legal department and assist in the drafting and negotiating of domestic and international technology agreements and other commercial contracts, including security and privacy issues, as well as provide legal advice to senior management.

Three years’ experience drafting and negotiating customer-facing commercial technology agreements, preferably gained while working at a technology company or major law firm, is required. Experience with cloud-based agreements and privacy and IP matters stemming from the sale of software is a plus.


Finance Partner

Firm Advice is conducting a search on behalf of a Northern Virginia office of a rapidly growing firm for an attorney/partner who has experience representing lenders and real estate companies in major transactions. This attorney will hopefully assume the lead of the practice group when the current practice lead partner retires in about 3 years.

  • Eight (8) plus years’ experience in government contracts litigation, counseling, and transactions.
  • Portable government contracts practice of $200,000+ is desirable.

The selected candidate will quickly assume responsibility for working directly with executives of their middle-market clients on mergers and acquisitions, business formation, and financing arrangements. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney to have immediate client interaction and work with exceptional attorneys in a collaborative, life-friendly environment.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a member of the Virginia bar or eligible to waive in to the Virginia bar;
